“Vidya – Each One Teach Many”
- This is a Centre-based model.
- Through this, a Community based Teacher or Akshar Sathi will identify non-literate adults in the community and run adult literacy classes at a common place.
- Each Akshar Sathi will teach 30 to a maximum of 40 Adult non-literate in a community centre for a minimum of 60 session, considering each session to be maximum of 1 hour duration.
- Akshar Sathi will solely teach using the Adult Literacy Tool-kit developed by RILM.
Who is an Akshar sathi?
- An Akshar Sathi is an individual who teaches a group of adult learners.
Who can be an Akshar sathi?
- An individual from the community who is willing to teach a group of adult learners.
- Completed at least standard X.
- Has access to smartphones.
